Tri-State Institutional Forum by Markets Group attendees heard from leading investment professionals on March 31, 2026 in New York City, including Bond Club of Philadelphia member Cavan Wilk. Wilk participated in the panel discussion titled “Emerging Markets: Opportunities, Risks, and the Next Growth Frontier,” where he shared insights on Emerging Markets Debt portfolio investment strategy with an audience of institutional investors and industry leaders.

During the session, panelists discussed strategies to invest in Emerging Markets securities as part of an Institutional Portfolio.  Topics included the strong risk adjusted performance of Emerging Markets Debt in 2025, broadly improving macroeconomic fundamentals and credit ratings, and the convergence of EM and DM instrument fundamentals.  Wilk highlighted the advantages of active management to identify idiosyncratic stories in the broad world of EMD.  Finally, he went into detail about the need for institutions to examine their Investment Policy Statement to take advantage of opportunities in EMD.

The discussion also examined how shifting monetary policies, geopolitical developments, and currency dynamics are shaping opportunities in emerging market fixed income. Wilk emphasized that active management and a deep understanding of local market conditions remain essential for identifying value and managing volatility within the asset class.

The Bond Club of Philadelphia is proud to see its members contributing to important industry conversations and sharing their expertise at respected industry gatherings such as the Tri-State Institutional Forum by Markets Group.
